OnYourMark Education (OYM), a project of Cambiar Education, provides high-impact, individualized, virtual early literacy tutoring, grounded in the Science of Reading, to K-5th graders.

Challenges

OYM’s early technology systems were thoughtfully assembled to support a nimble, fast-moving team. The organization faced a pivotal technical inflection point: how to assess risk, prioritize needs, and determine whether to continue relying on external support or invest in in-house technical leadership. Leadership wanted to move forward deliberately—grounded in a clear understanding of their current technical landscape, realistic options for scale, and confidence that their next decisions would support sustainable growth rather than create new complexity.

Solution

OYM engaged Clarity as a trusted technical advisor to bring structure and expert judgment to a critical growth moment. Clarity conducted an initial risk and technology assessment—reviewing systems, data flows, and core workflows—to understand where OYM’s existing technical foundation was strong and where future growth could introduce risk. This work resulted in a clear, prioritized technology roadmap aligned to OYM’s growth goals and designed for practical execution.

The roadmap also informed a key leadership decision: hiring OYM’s first in-house technical leader. Clarity partnered closely with OYM through role definition, interview design, and technical evaluation, providing deep technical vetting and objective perspective throughout the process. Following the hire, Clarity supported onboarding to ensure continuity between the roadmap and execution, enabling a smooth transition from advisory-led planning to internal ownership.
